Random Party @ Majestic Bar

July 20, 2009

Big thanks to Jonson for letting us have Level 3 free of charge to host our random party. We call it a random party because it is one where we (‘we’ being the core group of us, or what I usually call the ‘Velvet gang’) invite random friends to get together for a good time. This time round, we decided to make it a ’singles party’ where we were tasked to bring 2 or 3 single friends of ‘good quality’ (haha!) so that the single folks (myself included!) can meet other single people, and the attached ones can make new friends too :)

I must say the party was a huge success. The turnout was pretty damn good, and I am fairly sure almost everyone had a good time whether or not they met someone who catches their fancy. The night ended with me playing 5-10 with Andy, Rick & Fiona and me getting kind of drunk on Whiskey and had to be sent home by June, Fi & PY! Heh heh.

A few photos to share … everything else is on Facebook …  Enjoy!

House party @ Eric & Felicia’s place

June 25, 2009

We finally got to visit Eric & Felicia’s place after talking about it for ages! We spent the evening stuffing our faces while watching nonsensical Stephen Chow movie, and then played Kings and Pictionary, and just hung out and chatted into the late night … THIS is definitely more economical than going to Velvet on a weekly basis! :D

June 10, 2009

It’s amazing how we all managed to make time for lunch and coffee on a Tuesday afternoon! I love my girlies! :)

I still <3 Taiwan

April 29, 2009

Here’s a quick one before I go for my BodyCombat class. Gosh! I have not attended a Combat class in ages! I am so so so craving for a good class!

Last month when I was here, I went to Tainan and Taipei. This time it is KenTing, Taichung and Taipei. KenTing was a let down because we didn’t get sunny weather while we were there for 2days, so we couldn’t do all the beach-y stuff. We still managed to drive around and checked out various cool spots, but it would have been better if the weather had allowed us to engage in some watersports or get a suntan.

Taichung wasn’t all that fun. A much quieter and less happening version of Taipei I would say. And slightly cheaper version too.

I still like Taipei best.

I ate a lot more during this trip than the last and feel grossly obese right now. Got to know more people, got re-acquainted with Dai Dee (thanks to PY, ZQ & Gad) and watched more Taiwanese telly! Shopping wise, I barely bought stuff. And since I am heading back on Sat evening, maybe I will go spend some money today/tomorrow/Friday.

Oh oh oh and Fi is coming tomorrow. Yay to that! Finally a gf! It is tiresome just hanging out with boys I tell you. I am so so so so so so glad that Fi will be here tomorrow. Yahooo! :)

Ok gotta rush off for my class now … Will try to update again soon! Tata for now!

又是台湾????

April 19, 2009

Yes I am off to Taiwan AGAIN tomorrow :)

PY, ZQ & Gad are already there and will be heading to KaoShiong tomorrow, I will then meet the 3 boys at KaoShiong on Tues afternoon before heading down to KenTing together. I am excited! We have a villa booked for 2 nights at a resort, and I hope the actual thing is as ass-kicking as the photos on the website!

Back to Taipei on Thursday, and I will probably hang there for 2 days, then Gad leaves on Sat, and perhaps 3 of us will head to TaiChung. Nothing is confirmed yet, it will be a spontaneous trip! :)

While in Taipei, I will be crashing with Aaron, Jerry & Tony.

Not bad huh. Vacationing with 3 boys, and staying with another 3. WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I hope Fi can join us about 2/3 through the trip though. It wil be MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun having a girlfriend around. And I hope the boys don’t drive me bonkers after 48 hours.

Time for bed now!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

在台北的最后三天。。。

March 27, 2009

In a blink of the eye, I am fast approaching the end of my stay here in Taiwan. 开始有一点舍不得的感觉。

My time here has been good thus far. I didn’t do anything spectacular or super exciting, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself just chilling, shopping, going to the gym on and off, watching telly, and soaking up the gorgeous weather.

I have indulged in loads of delish goodies, checked out various shopping areas, enjoyed the classes of different instructors at California, and may I just say this – channel surfing is such a pleasure here! So so so many channels, it is almost impossible to think ‘damn there is nothing to watch on telly!’.

我不想回家!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taiwan Day 3

March 22, 2009

A quick update on my stay in Taiwan thus far:

Day 1 – Oyster mee sua for dinner, tried Smelly toufu (was forced to!) and confirmed that it is NOT my cup of tea, drinks with a bunch of peeps at a place called Kama (will upload photos when back).

Day 2 – Woke up real early to take the High Speed Rail with Aaron to Tainan where his family is. Upon reaching Tainan, it was non stop eating trying out a variety of local delights. We went from place to place eating non stop, then dinner with his family, followed by a visit to the night market for more snacks and games.

Day 3 – Started the day with more eating, then visited Aaron’s grandparents & some other relatives. His 91 yrs old grandpa has to be the most adorable old folk I have met in a long long long long time. Ok so maybe I am biased, but he told me that I am pretty like, 5 times? And he just kept laughing and asking questions, and of course saying things which embarrassed Aaron to no end. But hey, anything to make a 91 yrs old man happy yeah? Did I mention that Aaron’s nephew Neo is uber cute? Wait till I post the photos, I am sure all of you will go ‘OMG! HE IS SOOOO CUTE!’.

So we’re back in Taipei now and doing laundry and just lazing around. Meanwhile, I am thinking where to head to for dinner. I am starving. Don’t ask me how that is even possible considering the crazy amounts I have been eating, but whatever! I am on vacation!

Ok better go collect the laundry and drag Aaron out of the apartment. I hope it won’t be too hard seeing how he is kind of glued to his work laptop AND watching basketball on telly at the same time. Bleah!

Laters!

The start of wholesomeness?

January 28, 2009

I had this entry done a while ago, I didn’t realize that it was saved to draft and not published. Damn. But better late than never!

So, the ‘Velvet gang’ decided to slowly switch to more wholesome (read: non-alcoholic) activities. To kickstart this whole new lifestyle, someone (I think it was PY) suggested that we do the Kent Ridge/Henderson Wave walk. After much discussion on the route and starting/ending point, we finally settled for a under 10km walk because some people (read: Fi) think that they will absolutely drop dead if they walk like 10km. But I suppose it ain’t too bad for a first attempt at wholesomeness! Hopefully we will keep up with more non-alcoholic wholesome activities!
